84th Anniversary Sale

Jack Lindley opened Lindley Clothing in Wahoo, NE in 1935, and for 84 years the Lindley name has been synonymous with men’s fine clothing in the Omaha area.

Today, John Lindley, Jack’s grandson, runs the business. While styles have changed over the last 8 decades, Lindley’s commitment to excellent customer service has remained the same.

“Service is our top priority, and we do it very well,” says John. “We know our clients by name, and we know what they like, so it is easy to what they are looking for – whether that is a suit, shirt, pants or shoes.”

John credits many dedicated employees for contributing to the company’s success, and for helping the company build trust with clients. A big part of their service is custom tailoring, which can be expensive and difficult to find on your own. Lindley clients know they can get a wardrobe piece that match their style, perfectly tailored to fit – and without a long wait.

The business has evolved over the years in order to meet the needs of customers. Styles have changed over the years, and today business suits are the main driver to get customers in the door. John is encouraged more and more young professionals have become clients, and he appreciates that young people today recognize the importance of dressing well in the business world.

While the Lindley has become popular because of suite, nearly 50% of business at the store is sportswear. Customers are often surprised when they visit the store and learn they can be dressed from head to toe, including shoes!

To celebrate 84 years of service, Lindley invites you to shop our anniversary sale now through Oct. 18th.

Dress for Success with Lindley Clothing

Despite the shift in many offices from traditional suits to some form of business casual, the general rule of thumb remains the same - dress for the job you WANT, not the job you have.

Business casual is less formal than traditional business attire, but it is still intended to look professional and businesslike. Inappropriately dressing at the office can be the biggest roadblock to career growth, but many people don’t have a clear understanding of what is appropriate.

The experienced team at Lindley can help! Our advice – complete the look from head to toe. Follow these tips from Lindley Clothing:

  • Wear clothes that fit. Ill-fitting suits – either too big or too small – look sloppy and unprofessional. The Lindley team can help you create a style that is right for your body size and type, including custom-fit dress shirts that can be dressed up or down.

  • Build your wardrobe with a few staples. Versatile sportscoats and dress pants, paired with custom-fit shirts, will help you be prepared for any professional situation.

  • Know the basic rules. Button-down collared shirts can be worn with a sportscoat, but not a suit. The tip of your tie should hit the middle of your waistband – not longer or shorter. You need a t-shirt under a dress shirt.

  • Don’t forget about the shoes. It won’t matter how great your shirt, tie, pants, sportscoat look if your shoes are worn, don’t match, or need a good shine. The goal is a complete look from head to toe.

  • Don’t be afraid to branch out. If your office dress code is less professional, consider adding a patterned pair of socks, or a shirt or sportscoat if you’re more adventurous.
